Finnish renewable energy investment firm Korkia and its joint venture partner BIWO Rinnovabile recently announced that they have completed the sale of two Ready-to-Build (RTB) stage solar PV projects in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Northern Italy.

The portfolio consists of the 4-MW Pradamano and 2.5-MW San Giovanni al Natisone PV projects, both located in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy.
According to Korkia, the combined 6.5 MW portfolio is projected to generate approximately 9,500 MWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to powering roughly 3,500 Italian households, and will significantly contribute to reducing carbon emissions, aligning with Italy’s National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) goals for 2030.
The projects were sold by Biko Renewable Energy, a joint venture between Finnish renewable energy investor Korkia and its local partner, BIWO Rinnovabile.
The buyer and the financial details of the sale were not disclosed.

Korkia said it will use the proceeds from the sale of its projects to fund the continued development of its vast pipeline of future projects, which it will likely sell off part by part as they become ready for construction.
Korkia is a global renewable energy investor and developer headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. Founded in 2006, the company transitioned in 2024 to focus exclusively on developing and financing utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects.
As of today, the company manages a portfolio of over 150 projects globally, with a combined capacity of approximately 14 GW of renewable energy and 8 GW of battery storage.
Korkia currently operates in nine markets across Europe, North America, and South America, including Finland, the UK, Chile, Italy, Romania, and Greece. Its team consists of approximately 50 in-house professionals and more than 75 local development partners.
