Hamburg-based Blue Elephant Energy GmbH (BEE) announced the acquisition of a 381 MW onshore wind portfolio in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, from developer WIND-projekt.
Located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the wind project portfolio includes 37 operational wind farms (260 MW), four projects under construction (46 MW), and three in the planning stage (75 MW). The projects are expected to be grid connected by 2027. Upon commissioning, the portfolio is expected to generate enough clean electricity annually to power approximately 330,000 households.
The financial terms, including the purchase price, of the acquisition were not disclosed by either Blue Elephant Energy (BEE) or WIND-projekt.
The press released by Blue Elephant Energy on January 12, 2026, confirmed that the deal was agreed upon in late December 2025.
The transaction is strategically timed as Germany enters 2026 with a revised onshore wind auction cap of €0.0725/kWh. By acquiring a mix of operational and shovel-ready projects now, BEE is securing assets that will benefit from the high competition and established feed-in tariffs in a market aiming for 10 GW of new wind capacity annually to hit 2030 targets.
