EV Charging Startup Emobi Raises $3.4M in Latest Seed Funding

Emobi, a San Francisco-based electric vehicle (EV) charging startup, secured $3.4 million in its latest seed funding round to scale its JustPlug cloud-based, app-free, and card-free Plug & Charge technology, designed to enable automatic charging for 80% of EVs that lack native Plug & Charge capabilities.

Florida Funders led the fresh investment round with participation from existing investors, including Y Combinator, Aves Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Gaingels, Gener8tor, Goodwater Capital, Oasis Capital, OneSixOne Ventures, and Ride Wave Ventures.

“Emobi is positioning itself as a leader in the rapidly evolving EV infrastructure market,” said Michael Kadow, Partner, Florida Funders.

“Their innovative approach to solving fundamental challenges in EV charging, backed by a clear strategy and a strong team, ensures they will play a pivotal role in shaping the industry’s future. We applaud Emobi’s commitment to making the charging experience seamless, secure, and universally accessible,” added Michael Kadow.

Emobi and HeyCharge are working together to upgrade chargers that do not have internet connectivity, enabling them to join a shared roaming network that gives users access to more than 140,000 charging points across the United States and Canada.

CEO Lin Sun Fa said with fresh funds, Emobi is currently deploying its infrastructure across North America, integrating over 140,000 charge points across the U.S. and Canada. Its infrastructure acts as a digital interoperability layer for fleets, automakers, and individual drivers.

“For over a decade, the EV industry has promised seamless charging but drivers are still fumbling with apps, RFID cards, and closed ecosystems,” said Lin Sun Fa, CEO of Emobi.

“We’re not waiting for another round of network upgrades or regulatory alignment – JustPlug breaks that stalemate. It’s the first solution that cuts through the fragmentation and gives power back to the people who actually drive EVs. This funding accelerates that mission and positions Emobi to make seamless and secure charging the norm, not the exception,” added Lin Sun Fa.

Investor appetite for electric vehicle charging software startups remained robust in 2025, with funding topping $2 billion, according to the latest data from Green Tech Post.
